Millions of opportunity seekers looking for extra income, automated lead generation and follow up systems that can contact and sort through thousands of prospects at the push of a button, and lots of money to be earned if you get it right.
Why then is it so hard to find qualified, active members for your downline on the Internet? The main reason is that most people are approaching their lead generation the wrong way.

Most people starting off in Network Marketing start looking for ‘opportunity seekers. Here’s something you probably didn’t realize…the average opportunity seeker is looking for something they can do that –

She finds a great website article on the benefits of a wonderful product that has been shown to work for others, orders a trial amount to give it a go, and discovers that her prayers have been answered.
Glenda is so impressed with the product that she tells, Shirley, Ann and Bill, her friends from the Over 50’s activity center. Bill, Ann and Shirley are also impressed with the benefits of the product and tell other people about it. Soon, hundreds of people are using the product after being referred to it by people they trust.
This is the way MLM is supposed to work.
The problem is, if you follow many of the industry’s training guidelines, you’ll never find Glenda or her friends because your business is not looking for her – the actual customer. I know several people who earn thousands of dollars a month by promoting the PRODUCTS first, and THEN the opportunity.
By focusing on what your customers want, and not the income you may receive from your downline, you set your MLM business up for success right from the start.
Bottom Line?
Build a website around the BENEFITS of the PRODUCTS your company provides (not the opportunity), attract customers to those products by PRE-selling them to potential customers (again, using the benefits they provide), then let them know that they can earn referral fees by sharing the benefits (the very benefits they themselves have experienced) of your products with others.
You will be building a long term, sustainable income stream from ‘real’ customers who love and continue to order your products and not people who are really just looking for a get rich quick scheme or a job…

If you are not willing to commit a certain percentage of your hours every day to building your business you will never be successful. Therefore be prepared to spend quality time every day at work for yourself.
2. Today many home income opportunities use the Internet to help you be successful. This presents challenges for people who are not used to sitting in front of a computer for long periods of time.
For certain you will need to develop some basic skills on just using your computer. You will also have to develop Internet marketing skills for your business to become a success.
The hardest skill to learn is how to get traffic to a website. If you expect to succeed, and make money at home, you will have to become very good at this because without visitors you will never make any sales.

One of my mentors, Dr. Ivan Misner, created Business Networks International based on “catch phrase” that, for me, provides the key underlying concept: “Givers gain.” We believe that this is one of the primary universal laws. With this as a foundation, your own income will be in direct relation to your own contributions to society. Keep this in mind and your “attraction marketing” efforts will have no limits. Thousands of people begin new businesses every day and MLM business opportunity network marketing allows anyone to start from the floor and work to the top. Getting started is easy, begin with buying a product or service. Most companies already have a website you can plug into and take care of shipping the products to new customers or distributors. On the surface this looks like a win-win for everyone. How is it that 95% of the people that get involved in this industry are not making any money?
I was reading Michael Dlouhy’s book, Success in 10 Steps, and he puts it best. Mike says, “Your product is people, so study people. Find out how you can help them reach their dreams.”
Understand how relevant that comment is. Think back when you first got started. A friend shared a great product with you and you got excited. Watched some video about the compensation plan and said why not you? Next you make a list of friends and family and your off and running. I hope I didn’t hit a nerve when I mentioned the no friends left! I have been there and understand what it means. You begin to look at other opportunities when you have not made any money with yours. It’s hard I know, the internet is a sea of opportunities.
I hope someone has not convinced you to buy leads, because I am here to tell you it does not work. Purchasing leads for your mlm business opportunity network marketing will be the biggest waste of money and only lead to more frustration. You do not want any added expense that wont help build your business. That is like throwing money out the window, enough said on that.
Just a couple of things that you should undertand about this industry. Most of the time you do not want to promote your opportunity. I know that does not make sense, but most people already have an opportunity. The last thing they want is to be ‘Sold’ on yours. What they need is help building their business. Provide that value and make a friend for life.
You have to be asking yourself what do people need? Well they want to learn how to market on the internet. Folks need direction for their business and how best to spend their time. Answer that question, provide real value and you will be heading in the right direction.
